THE MANAGEMENT OF THE AFFAIRS OF NO EXCUSES UNLIMITED IS VESTED IN A BOARD OF DIRECTORS. THE CURRENT BOARD CONSISTS OF THE BOARD CHAIRPERSON, TREASURER AND FOUR DIRECTORS. IN ADDITION, AN ADVISORY COMMITTEE CURRENTLY ASSISTS THE BOARD.

Chris was a member of the team for over a decade. With numerous medals behind him, he has has continued to be involved in the adaptive community. His many accomplishments include being the first paraplegic to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro; a member of the Paralympic Hall of Fame and the US Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame; founder of The One Revolution Foundation; one of the Dalai Lama’s Unsung Heroes of Compassion; and, one of People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People. Chris is a TV personality, a motivational speaker, an educator, an innovator, and clearly, still an athlete.
Rick Simms

Rick is a Certified Public Accountant and Personal Financial Specialist. Involved in the financial community for over 40 years, his experience includes his own tax practice and KPMG. Rick has served in various positions with the Colorado Society of CPAs, including Chairman of the Personal Financial Planning Committee. Rick is involved in various local and national nonprofits. He is currently Chairman of the Board of the Mental Health Center of Denver. Rick is Treasurer and Co-Founder of No Excuses Unlimited.
Monica Bascio

Monica Bascio

Monica is a retired Paralympic cyclist, cross-country skier and biathlete. A four-time Paralympian, Bascio had the honor to carry the Olympic Torch for the 2002 Olympic Games and won two silver medals in handcycling at the London 2012 Paralympic Games. She was named Paralympic Sportswoman of the Year in 2013 by the USOC and competed in three winter Paralympic Games, finishing 5th in the 10k at the 2006 Games in Torino. At the age of 44 placed seventh in the 12k at the Sochi 2014 Games. Bascio retired following the Sochi games, was diagnosed with colon cancer later that year and is currently cancer free. In 2016, she was elected to the IPC Athlete’s Council, and currently works to be a voice and an advocate for Paralympic athletes all over the world. In 2018, Monica was appointed to the IOC Athlete’s Entourage Commission.
Susan Burgstiner

In 1996, CTAM of the Rocky Mountains began its support of the team through a fundraising event known as SkiTAM. In 2011, the group reorganized and is now known as Adaptive Spirit. Susan has been involved with Adaptive Spirit (aka SkiTAM) since its inception as Social Chairperson and Administrator. President of Marketing On Demand, Susan increased her work to support the team when she joined the No Excuses Unlimited board in 2007.

Bill Futera

Bill is a retired telecommunications executive who was EVP and CFO of Bright House Networks. In addition to his 26 years there, Bill held executive positions at other cable companies. He was one of the founders of the iNDEMAND which has distributed pay-per-view and on demand content to the cable industry since 1987. Bill has served on various boards including Time Warner Telecom, E! Entertainment and Women’s United Soccer Association. He recently retired from the Adaptive Spirit event committee where he was Athlete Partner Program co-chair for eight years. In addition, Bill served eight years on the board of a private school in upstate New York and boards of youth football leagues and youth soccer leagues. Bill has coached competitive and non-competitive youth football, soccer, lacrosse and ice hockey teams for over 40 years.
Bob Meserve

Bob served as President of Disabled Sports USA (DSUSA) from 2005 until 2017. Upon completion of several consecutive terms as President, he has remained active with the Board. A member of the United States Disabled Ski Team from 1989 to 1993, Bob competed both nationally and internationally, served on the Athlete Advisory Committee of the United States Olympic Committee(USOC) and the Alpine Competition Committee from 2000 to 2004. Bob was an Olympic Torch Bearer for the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Games. Bob has also served as a Board Member for Adaptive Adventures, a DSUSA Chapter in Denver, the Colorado Ski and Snowboard Museum and the One Revolution Foundation. Bob was inducted into the National Disabled Snow Sports Hall of Fame in 2009 for his work to advance the Paralympic Movement and opportunities for individuals with disabilities to participate in sports and recreation.

Trygve is President of Myhren Media, Inc. and Myhren Ventures, LP, private firms in Denver, Vail and Naples Florida. He is Chairman-Emeritus and a Board Trustee at University of Denver. In 2006, he served as U.S. Chief of Mission at the Winter Paralympic Games. He also currently serves as trustee of the Denver Art Museum, board member of AdPay, Inc., Advisory Board of Spruceview Capital Partners and is a member of the Colorado Forum. He is a past board member at JD Edwards, Verio, Turner Broadcasting, Peapod, Continental Cablevision, Citizen’s Bank, R.I. Hospital and U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team Foundation. His posts in the corporate world included President of Providence Journal Company, Chairman/CEO of American Television and Communications Corporation and Chairman of The National Cable Television Association. He is a member of the Colorado Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame and the National Cable Television Hall of Fame and is a co-founder of six cable networks including Food Network, NW Cable News and E! Entertainment.
